Wide Receiver Carter Signs with Wranglers in Move to Professional Play

Joining the ranks of the Indoor Football League, wide receiver Jacquez Carter steps into his inaugural season with the Wranglers, bringing with him an impressive collegiate football pedigree. Carter’s journey to the Wranglers included a noteworthy pit stop earlier this year as one of approximately 50 athletes who earned a coveted invitation to a private tryout with the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts.

In a dominant display on the field, Carter represented Indiana Wesleyan University with distinction, putting up numbers that demand attention. Over the course of two seasons, his reliable hands brought in 114 receptions, translated into 1,568 yards, and resulted in 16 trips to the end zone. His 2021 season stats further boasted a rushing and a passing touchdown, showcasing his versatile offensive abilities.

During his tenure with the Wildcats, Carter’s output did not go unnoticed, as evidenced by his collection of awards and honors. Notably, he secured the 2022 Offensive Player of the Year award in his conference, the Mid-States Football Association Mideast Offensive Player of the Year accolade. His senior year performance also landed him a spot on the 2022 AFCA NAIA All-American First Team. His consistent excellence was underlined with consecutive All-MSFA Mideast First Team honors for 2021 and 2022.

Carter, who graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Animal Science and Biology from Indiana Wesleyan, had an eventful collegiate journey. Before his standout performance at Indiana Wesleyan, he laid his foundational football years at Missouri State University, securing a place post a season with Arizona Western College and a spring stint at Jones County Junior College.

Hailing from Naples, Florida, Carter embraced football early on, inspired by a lineage of family members devoted to the game, including his father, uncle, older brother, and cousins. This lifelong passion has fueled his drive to excel and has influenced his perspective on his professional aspirations. He expresses a sincere desire to use football as a conduit to give back to his family for their unwavering support throughout his life.

As Carter gears up to don the Wranglers’ jersey, his focus is set not only on seizing the opportunity for professional growth but also on engaging with a new community and fan base. With significant college travels under his belt, Carter is prepared to root his family in a new environment, all facilitated through the game that has shaped his life.

On the field, Wranglers’ supporters can anticipate an athlete committed to the ethos of hard work and explosive playmaking. He vows to extend his drive and dedication to the team in hopes of steering the Wranglers to championship success. The Floridian native is determined to embody the tenacity and skill that he attributes to the players from South Florida, promising to apply himself fully to the Wranglers’ goals.

With this latest addition to their roster, the Wranglers have gained not just a remarkable athlete but a player with a clear vision of his role in the team and the impact he intends to make on and off the field.
