First FCF Highlight Packs to be Released on Saturday, May 7 on https://eternal.gg
ATLANTA (May 5, 2022) – Fan Controlled Football (FCF), the only professional sports league that empowers fans to make key decisions for their favorite team, including calling plays in real-time, today announced an exclusive partnership with Eternal.gg to create and sell NFT-based game highlights. An industry leader in digital collectibles, Eternal.gg specializes in capturing in-stream moments and creating NFTs which can be purchased and sold on its marketplace.
For the first-time ever, fans can now own their favorite jaw-dropping moments from FCF games by purchasing packs of NFT digital collectable highlights, including NFL Hall of Famer and Zappers wide receiver Terrell Owens’ first touchdown catch in nearly a decade.
FCF and Eternal.gg will release the first packs on Saturday, May 7, at 1 pm ET, but fans can visit https://eternal.gg/partnership/FCF today to create an account and set a reminder for Saturday’s release. Eternal.gg will mint 2,000 initial packs each containing three randomized highlights from Weeks 1-3 of FCF Season v2.0, with each pack retailing for $10.
Additional packs, which will feature highlights from Weeks 4-7, will be released following the conclusion of the regular season. The third and final installment of digital highlight packs will be available following the Season v2.0 People’s Championship to be played on Saturday June 11.
The highlight packs are designed to have utility within the FCF ecosystem and will be created in varying degrees of rarity on the Eternal.gg platform, ranging from common to mythic. Fans can collect, trade, and resell the highlights at any time on Eternal.gg’s marketplace.
“FCF has embraced web3 unlike any other professional sports league, and our new partnership with Eternal represents another step in our mission to change the way fans interact with sports and technology,” said Sohrob Farudi, Co-Founder and CEO of Fan Controlled Football. “We are thrilled to collaborate with the talented team at Eternal on this project and provide our fans with an opportunity to own a piece of FCF history with these unique digital highlight packs.”
“We could not be more excited to partner with Fan Controlled Football on this incredible NFT launch,” said Jeffrey Tong, CEO of Eternal.gg. “Sohrob’s vision and the league’s goals are perfectly aligned with our approach to create an immersive experience that puts the fans first. Fans play a vital role in the streaming and gaming industry, and FCF has a passionate and growing fan base that is directly integrated into their game. We believe the Eternal and FCF communities are a great match.”
FCF made its debut in February 2021, featuring four teams owned by some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment including Marshawn Lynch, Quavo, Richard Sherman, Austin Ekeler, Dalvin Cook, and Bob Menery. The league has redefined football for the digital age by combining the competitiveness of live sports, the engagement of fantasy sports, and the interactivity of video games into a live streamed, leaned-in fan experience. Season v1.0 saw FCF become the fastest growing live sports channel on Twitch with nearly 10 million total live views, and one of the top sports Apps in the Apple App Store. FCF has seen exponential viewership growth in Season v2.0, which debuted on April 16, 2022. Overall, Season v2.0’s opening week of action generated 2.5 million total live views across Twitch, NBCLX, DAZN and Fubo Sports Network, more than tripling the total live views from Season v1.0’s debut.
Eternal.gg is built on the Flow blockchain, which is the same technology that powers popular sports digital collectable assets such as NBA Top Shot, NFL All Day and UFC Strike.
