Safety Shamarko Thomas has found his new football home in Canada. The Ottawa Redblacks have signed the former Syracuse star for the 2021 season. Thomas was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 4th round of the 2013 NFL Draft, primarily as the heir-apparent to former Steeler Troy Polumalu, but that didn’t go as planned. Today the CFL’s Ottawa REDBLACKS announced they have signed DC Defenders DB Shamarko Thomas. He is the 7th XFL player to sign with the REDBLACKS and the 4th DC Defenders player to sign with a CFL team. The Seattle Seahawks have signed Los Angeles Wildcats G Kahlil McKenzie to a one year deal. He is the third Wildcat to sign an NFL contract. He joins Saeed Blacknall and Storm Norton. He is also the first XFL player to sign with the Seahawks. McKenzie originally signed with the DC Defenders on January 20th, 2020.
