LA Wildcats Surprise Cuts and Projected Starters For 2020

On January 27th all eight teams in the XFL released their 52 man rosters. Here is a breakdown of the Wildcat’s roster

Surprises:

KD Cannon: KD Cannon was a standout in college scoring 27 TD’s and accumulating 3,113 yards in his 3 years at Baylor. Cannon was projected to be one of Josh Johnson’s top targets so the fact that Cannon did not make the 52 man roster is puzzling. Expect another team or Team 9 (the XFL’s practice squad) to scoop Cannon up.

Shawn Oakman: Although the signing of Oakman was just confirmed when the roster was released, Konnor Fulk of XFL News Hub broke this news earlier in the week. This is surprising news as Oakman was actually drafted by the Wildcats but cut during minicamp. Oakman is an absolute beast and is going to be a leader of the defense.

Projected Starters:

Offense:

QB: Josh Johnson

RB: Dujuan Harris/ Elijah Hood

WR: Nelson Spruce/ Tre McBride/ Jordan Smallwood/ Saeed Blacknall

TE: Brandon Barnes

OT: Jaelin Robinson/Storm Norton

C: Patrick Vahe or Kahlil McKenzie

OG: Nico Siragusa/ Fred Lauina

Defense:

DE: Shawn Oakman/ Cedric Reed or Roderick Henderson

DT: Boogie Roberts/Brady Latarius

OLB:  Willie Mays/ Anthony Johnson

ILB: Tre’ Williams

CB: Jack Tocho/ Arrion Springs/ Jayle Dunlap

S: LaDarius Wiley/ Ahmad Dixon

Special Teams:

K: Nick Novak

P: Colton Schmidt

LS: Ryan Navarro
