LA Wildcats Claim 4 Players Off Waivers Including Dujuan Harris

Sunday, December 22, the Los Angeles Wildcats claimed four players off waivers. Of those players included Dujuan Harris a Running Back, Roderick Henderson, a Defensive Tackle, Darnell Hill a Defensive Back, and Jordan Smallwood a Wide Receiver. It is unclear how much of an impact these players will make however, there are no risks for the Wildcats as they had four open roster spots and did not have to cut anybody.

Harris and Smallwood are the most recognized names on this list as they both have had NFL stints.

Harris who played his college ball at Troy, has bounced around practice squads across the NFL but did gain some NFL game experience in 2012-13 with the Packers. Harris played under Coach Winston Moss, who was an assistant with the Packers and now is the Head Coach of the Wildcats.

While with the Packers, Harris had a career game as he totaled 100 yards and a touchdown in the NFC playoffs. Harris was later cut due to a knee injury and has bounced around NFL teams since.

Although Smallwood did not have the best career at Oklahoma he has been looked at by a number of NFL teams. In his senior year at Oklahoma, Smallwood had 10 catches for 97 yards. Despite these numbers, Smallwood has tried out or been on the practice squad of numerous NFL teams including the Lions and Chiefs.

Time will tell to see if these four new acquisitions will make a difference in the long run but it can’t hurt for the Wildcats to experiment with new players and hopefully find a diamond in the rough.
