QB Ryan Mallett Arrested For DWI On Tuesday

Former New England Patriots QB Ryan Mallett was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of DWI. Mallett recently accepted an XFL Commissioner Invite to be part of the XFL draft in mid-October.

According to a report by 40/29 News, the former Arkansas quarterback was arrested on suspicion of DWI in Springdale Arkansas Tuesday night. In the report, Lt. Jeff Taylor with Springdale Police said:

“Officers responded to an accident near the intersection of New Hope and 112 around 6:23 p.m. Mallett was taken into custody just before 7:00 p.m.”

According to bestofarkansassports.com he had a blood alcohol concentration of .08.

Mallett was part of the XFL’s Summer Showcase in Tampa Bay earlier this summer. Many had Mallett as a possible tier 1 franchise QB in the XFL. The arrest and given his past history with personal issues could put that in doubt.

Mallet played for Michigan in 2007 than at the University of Arkansas from 2008 to 2010. He was drafted in the third round of the 2011 NFL draft by the Patriots. He also played for the Houston Texans, and Baltimore Ravens.

I really don’t want to see Mallett, Manziel or Kaepernick in the NFL or the
XFL for that matter. I would love to see Tebow play in Tampa Bay and I’m curious
to see what Landry has to offer. If I were the XFL, I would draft Trevor
Lawrence even if he has no intention of leaving Clemson. It would show the XFL
    means business.

I think Tebow on Tampa makes sense. His season with the Syracuse Mets ended with him being injured, the V likely hood of him returning to baseball is slim. I wish him the best.
