Dallas Renegades And Former Detroit Lions WR Ryan Broyles Retires

According to Joseph Hoyt a reporter for the Dallas Morning News, Dallas Renegades Wide Reciever Ryan Broyles has decided to retire.

” Former Oklahoma WR Ryan Broyles has retired and will not be joining the Dallas Renegades, per a team spokesman. The Renegades have the right of first refusal on Broyles if he decides he wants to play. “

Broyles is a former Oklahoma Sooner under head coach Bob Stoops and former 2nd round pick Detroit in 2012. Broyles was teammates with current Renegades starting QB Landry Jones. The pair connected for 1157 yards and 10 TD’s in 2011 with the Sooners. He was selected in Phase five of the XFL draft.

He was a two-time consensus All-American in 2010 and 2011. He is second all-time in career receptions and yards in the NCAA. His promising NFL career was cut short by injuries.

The 31-year-old wide receiver last played in 2014 for the Detroit Lions. Since his time with the Lions, Broyles has worked as a real estate developer in the Norman, Oklahoma area.
