XFL Updates Site, Adds CFL Announcement, New Sections

With the big announcement last week of talks between the CFL and XFL, it is no surprise the league would update its website. It now includes comments from XFL Chairwoman Dany Garcia, CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie and XFL President and CEO Jefferey Pollack.

Also added is an XFL Today section.

The XFL’s dynamic new ownership group, led by Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson, and RedBird Capital Partners, is excited to be building a league of culture, passion and purpose focused on our players, coaches, cities and fans.  The XFL will again deliver authentic, high-energy football for all at an affordable price and showcase fast-paced games.

Video recaps of the 2020 season have been added as well as a new language on the league’s FAQ page.

1. When will the XFL kickoff?

The XFL 2022 season is on hold, pending the outcome of conversations with the Canadian Football League (CFL).  We look forward to being back on the field as soon as possible.

3. When will the game schedule be released?

We do not know at this point. The 2022 XFL season is on hold, pending the outcome of the CFL discussions.

Clearly the site is getting ready for future announcements as well as additions to the leadership team. We should get more announcements in the days and weeks ahead.

Most of the population will be vaccinated by June. The XFL can still pull off a 2021 season with fans. The XFL should work on a 2021 schedule with the CFL and XFL teams should be allowed to compete for the Grey Cup in 2021.

CFL Rules are BIG TIME different. 3 Downs not 4, !2 play not 11, Longer & Wider field, different size football, just to name a few.
If this merger happens, it will be challenging.

    GOOD LUCK XFL / CFL

      No no no no no

As a Canadian I already know this is going to go down like every other league we compete against American cities in: Canadian teams will have no money and won’t be able to field a competitive roster against the American teams, making all our teams boring unless playing another Canadian team.

XFL was originally designed to be modified American football. So why would they team with the CFL? I’ll hold judgement and see what they change about the XFL’s rules, if any.

Don’t postpone anymore, strike while the buzz is there or you’re gonna lose fans and players!!!

It’s March. They have no players, nothing but intellectual property.

And, no, most of the population will NOT be vaccinated by June.

There will not be a 2021 season. They NEVER intended to have a 2021 season. Now – despite fanboys constantly telling us there is such incredible demand for alt-football – 2022 is “on hold.” The CFL is an excuse.
