XFL Looking To Buy The AAF’s Old Football Equipment

Charlie And Vince

The San Antonio Express-News is reporting that the XFL is interested in acquiring the now defuncts Alliance Of American Football (AAF) football equipment and other assets. The league folded before completing its first season and is now in Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation.

According to the report “A San Antonio bankruptcy trustee last week filed court papers asking a judge to approve the sale of some of the AAF’s assets to XFL parent company Alpha Entertainment for $375,000. Alpha has already paid a $37,500 deposit.”

As part of the $375,000 price tag the items stored in a warehouse on San Antonio’s Northeast Side, include Riddell, Schutt, and Vicis helmets, metal lockets, tackling dummies, shoulder pads, and tons of rolls of athletic tape. The number of items is in the thousands. Getting it on the cheap would be an excellent win for the XFL’s finances.

The sale is not a done deal yet as the bankruptcy trustee is waiting for other potential offers.
