XFL’s Houston Roughnecks Announce Broadcast Partnership with ESPN 97.5

HOUSTON – The XFL Houston Roughnecks have announced an agreement with Houston-based Gow Media that will make ESPN 97.5 (KFNC-FM) the team’s flagship radio partner and home of the Roughnecks for the 2020 XFL season.

Fans can listen to Roughnecks games, home and away, on ESPN 97.5 and the station will feature pre-game and post-game shows. ESPN 97.5’s John Granato will handle play-by-play duties, while KRIV-TV sports reporter Nate Griffin, will provide expert commentary.

“Our partnership with Gow Media and ESPN 97.5 will help us build our fanbase and connect with the community,” said Roughnecks President Brian Michael Cooper. “John and Nate are two of the most respected and knowledgeable broadcasters in the market, and we’re excited to have them in the booth calling Roughnecks games in 2020.”

Granato works mornings as one-half of ESPN 97.5’s morning show, The Bench, with Lance Zierlein. Griffin serves as general assignment reporter and sports analyst for KRIV-TV and can be seen on the FOX 26 Morning News.

“We are excited to partner with the Houston Roughnecks and the XFL,” says David Gow, CEO of Gow Media. “The on-air product will be fun and engaging for listeners, especially with the team of Granato and Griffin.”
