Are There More Value Bets In The XFL Than In The NFL?

Sports betting has now become an industry of its own, which has continued to grow over the years. It draws millions of bettors every year and is becoming among the top choices of people to wager on.

That’s probably why football leagues (aside from the promise of entertainment it brings) have continued to thrive and be well-received by many people throughout the globe – because of the growth in American football betting.

XFL and NFL

The XFL is a professional American football league (just like the more popular NFL), consisting mainly of 8 teams that are divided equally between the East and West divisions. XFL seasons run between February and April, with every team playing 10 games in the regular season, as well as 4 progressing to the playoffs in order to hail the season winner.

Meanwhile, the National Football League (NFL) is the most celebrated professional American football league. It consists of 32 teams which are equally divided between the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC). The NFL’s regular season runs for 18 weeks from early September to early January, where each team would play 17 games and have one bye week.

Finding value in betting odds

Value, in sports betting regardless if it’s online or offline betting, can either be positive or negative. It’s a positive value if the wager’s probability of winning is higher than the probability shown in the odds. In other words, you’ll have a positive value if you’re more likely to win than what your odds suggest.

Meanwhile, a negative value occurs when you’re less likely to win than what your odds suggest. So, to ensure you’re making money in betting, you should find positive value.

To find the value of odds is the best way to grow your money in betting sports. In fact, it could be the only way to consistently and regularly make money from betting. Your chances of winning and having long-term success will significantly dip or go as close to zero if you don’t bet for value. Hence, just merely trying to guess what will happen isn’t a good betting strategy – it is, in fact, a losing approach.

Most XFL and NFL sports bettors tend to wager on possible outcomes or what they think will most likely happen rather than actually betting for value. If you’re guilty of that approach, you’re not alone as a huge chunk of the betting population commit the same mistake. While it does seem like a very logical approach, it is, however, inherently flawed.

You could win a lot of wagers though betting on possible outcomes and still won’t necessarily profit from it.

For successful betting, you should take out the belief that you are to pick as many winners as you can. Instead, remember that it’s all about looking for spots wherein odds can favor you and therefore be able to get your money down when you positively expect it.

In other words, finding true value entails being able to see past the seemingly good odds and look for the little opportunities to guarantee your win. But of course, a hundred percent assurance isn’t expected in sports betting – you may just have to rely on higher odds. To do that, you may need to have a full grasp and understand all the factors that determine your odds.

Factors affecting XFL betting odds

The XFL and the NFL may have more differences than they have similarities, so your betting odds may also differ.

In general, XFL betting lines are much looser and are easier to jump on as the rules that affect scoring may lead to higher totals. All the odds that are posted on the board aren’t necessarily true immediately. The booking process would serve as an experiment in the earlier XFL matchups.

Meanwhile, it may be easier to study each team (or each player in every team) as fewer teams are playing in the XFL than in the NFL. While the NFL has 32 teams playing in every season, XFL only has 8 (as mentioned earlier).

Another factor to consider is how each XFL game is more fast-paced compared to NFL. One of the ways the league made to reduce the length of each game is to lower the number of timeouts for each team. That makes coaches have a lesser impact once the game starts.

You can also use the XFL’s rules allowing more points at the end of each match to your advantage. Look to get increased prices on overs live or late comebacks. That’s more likely to happen in the XFL than in the NFL, opening the door for you to make some money in the last few minutes of every game.

So, are there more value bets in the XFL than in the NFL? Given all the information and the factors affecting your odds in betting, as mentioned above, it’s clear that XFL offers more opportunities for an increase in value bets than you can expect from NFL. Remember not to transpose your NFL wagering strategies over to the XFL markets as these are very different leagues with very different rules.
