CFLPA President Addresses CFL Season Speculation With Players

CFLPA president Solomon Elimimian released a statement to players on Tuesday after The United Football Players Association, lead by former Seattle Dragons Kenneth Farrow II speculated that there might not be a 2021 CFL season.

Elimimian sent out the following memo to its players outlining the union’s position.

There is an organization called the United Football Players Association (UFPA) purporting to have knowledge of the CFL, our bargaining, and the status of the 2021 and 2022 seasons. They do not!

The only credible information should come from your player reps or the CFLPA office directly.

Today’s statement by the UFPA has created unnecessary distraction as we remain focused on playing a 2021 season.

Our advice to you, when seeking information, is to contact the CFLPA office directly or your elected team player representatives.

The CFL and its player’s union have been meeting since February putting plans in place for a 2021 season. Players are supposed to report to camp in May with pre-season games set to begin Sunday, May 23rd. The CFL’s regular season is set to kick off on Thursday, June 10th.

Tune in Thursday on the XFL Markcast for an interview with the head of the UFPA Kenneth Farrow.

They’re going to play in 2021. The Rock doesn’t have enough money to buy the CFL. The big player in the stadium is MLSE, owner of the Argos, whose Parent Company’s combined worth is$75 billion. It will be a merger with CFL rules.
